Olympiad Fund-Raising Simultaneous Display
by IM Stephen Solomon

Held at the Brisbane Chess Club on August 28 2008

Fourteen players came to the Brisbane Chess Club on Thursday, August 28, to play IM Stephen Solomon in the simultaneous display organised by George Lester to raise funds for the Olympiad Appeal.

In the end, Stephen was too strong for everybody except Howard Duggan, who managed to achieve the solitary draw (see game below). He was awarded the prize for the best game, while Yi Liu won the second prize - both generously donated by George Lester.

The turnout was slightly disappointing, but still raised $162 for the Olympiad Appeal. Thanks to George for organising the event, Stephen for giving us all a chess lesson, and to all the players who took part.
